I called Sevierville and the Smoky Mountains my home for several years so when the recent fires devastated the area, it hit close to home as I still have family and friends that reside there. I visited some family in October this year right at the height of Fall. My wonderful daughter-in-law and I rose early one day for a Clingman's Dome Sunrise. It was glorious!
It started rather anti-climactic and rose to a beautiful sight then soon moved into the famous haziness from where The Smokies got their name only to clear up a bit later. From these photos I chose three to share for downloading to your computers and other devices.

As they begin their recovery there in the Tri-city area and Great Smoky Mountain National Park, keep them in your prayers.
